Due to circumstances, the youngest son of a chaebol family, Jin In Soo (portrayed by Ahn Bo Hyun), gets appointed as a special recruit in a police unit. He, however butt heads with one of the by-the-book team leaders, Lee Gang Hyun (portrayed by Park Ji Hyun).
Will Jin In Soo become an asset—thanks to his wealth and connections—or a liability to his team?
Here are 7 reasons why you might want to watch the series:
1.) It’s action-packed from the get-go.
The series showcases the drama’s compelling yet comedic theme right off the bat, plus a fast-paced and immersive introduction of the characters.
2.) The actual plot starts once the theme introduction settles.
Despite the fast takes, it actually took a while for the first episode to finally dip into the actual story. However, the audience can get absorbed into the latter part as each piece of the puzzle—from the storyline to the build up of the characters—comes together before the second episode.
3.) “Flex X Cop” showcases a new type of character when it comes to solving crimes.
As Ahn Bo Hyun said, “Jin In Soo can be annoying, but endearing.” His character is somewhat an anti-hero. He’s also a chaebol cop (who is a bit spoiled), and such unique preposition makes his crime-solving ways different from others.
4.) Reunion of “Yumi’s Cells” stars Ahn Bo Hyun and Park Ji Hyun.
Reunited as duos, viewers will be seeing the two in a different light in terms of their chemistry. If the two had a more mellow relationship in their previous drama, “Flex X Cop” will showcase more tension and fight scenes.
5.) Ahn Bo Hyun’s “career-defining” character.
It’s easy to see how Jin In Soo is said to be a “career-defining” role for the actor: he’s a police detective, a chaebol, and a miscellaneous hero—a mix of a lot of the characters he previously portrayed. Hence, Jin In Soo, might just showcases many of Ahn Bo Hyun’s strong points, including his acting prowess and his flair for action.
6.) Park Ji Hyun’s first main lead role.
The actress portrayed supporting, yet somewhat villainous roles before. This series is simply her breakthrough as a lead character.
7.) All in all, “Flex X Cop” is another addition to viewers who like action dramas and enjoy solving mysteries, but is also looking for something different yet also entertaining.
