“Perfect Crown” Episode 12: Ending Thougts

“Perfect Crown” really showed that sometimes the dream isn’t the “throne”: it’s not power or status, but simply love (not just romantic love) and acceptance.

Lee Wan only wanted the throne to feel accepted at first, the main reason was to be loved by a loved one. The same way it was for Huiju.

It just goes to show that what most people want—money, power, fame, the “crown”—may not be the answer, similar to Jim Carey’s quote. What seems shiny on the outside may not bring you happiness and fulfillment.

In the end, “Perfect Crown” showed how Lee Wan felt lighter and happier letting go of what everybody else wanted to have. What made him happy truly was his connection with the people he loves.

In this generation, the most mundane things can actually be the most fulfilling: a domestic life, a happy family, real friends not based on status, being able to do normal everyday things. Because it’s even more rare now to find love, friendship, and a found family than it is to find what others view as “success.”

Maybe success is not just achieving achievements, but is truly becoming at peace with yourself and your life.
