Disney+’s “Blood Free” First Impression Review: Started Off with an Intriguing Storyline

Blood Free (also known as BF, a company that successfully created an alternative to meat) CEO Yoon Ja Yu’s (portrayed by Han Hyo Joo) life is in danger due to her company’s cultured meat project. To protect her life, she hires a bodyguard named Woo Chae Woon (portrayed by Ju Ji Hoon), an ex-soldier with a traumatic past—but will seemingly soon be in crossroads on whether to protect or doubt Ja Yu’s motives.

Meanwhile, as Ja Yu was searching for the perfect person to protect her, she also stumbled upon another problem: finding out who is out to get her when a ransomware attacked BF’s laboratory’s system.

What’s interesting about “Blood Free” is how it will keep you guessing how Ja Yu and Woo Cheon’s relationships will turn out. Will they be on the same side? Will they keep doubting each other? Or will one turn into a villain? The possibilities make their tandem rather complex.

Additionally, there are still a lot to untangle even after the second episode. The first two episodes of “Blood Free” felt like an introduction to the company, BF, and a part of Woo Cheon’s past. But it doesn’t fully divulge on important details, leaving viewers questioning and hoping for answers on the next episode.

“Blood Free” is now streaming via Disney+.
