They kept their promise. Super Junior returned to the Philippines for—not one but two—Super Shows in Manila last December 17 and 18 at the Mall Of Asia Arena.
Presented by Pulp Live World, Super Show 9 in Manila features members Leeteuk, Yesung, Shindong, Eunhyuk, Donghae, Siwon, Ryeowook, and Kyuhyun performing many of their hit songs including “Sorry, Sorry,” “Mr. Simple,” and “Bonamana,” among others. They also sang throwback tracks such as “Happiness” and “Wonder Boy.”
Aside from their group performances, Super Junior’s sub-units: K.R.Y (Kyuhyun, Ryeowook, Yesung) and D&E (Donghae and Eunhyuk) also had their own special stages.

As it was Christmas season, the members would often greet the crowd a “Merry Christmas.” Sometimes even jokingly ask ELFs to “marry” them as a pun. As Leeteuk said, “Are you Christmas? Because I want to “merry” you.” Donghae also sang Christmas songs for ELFs on both nights.
Day 2 attendees also got a gift from the boys as the group performed “White Christmas” live on stage for the first time ever.

Super Junior also each gave sincere heartfelt messages to the audience. Eunhyuk opened up by talking about how much he misses someone dear to him. While Siwon said he prays that 2023 will be a year of hope, and confessed that ELFs inspire him.
The group also expressed their desire to come back to Manila in 2023, and possibly hold a 3-day concert for their Filipino ELFs. Donghae said, “We’ll try our best to have a concert that we can do thrice (for three days).” While Leeteuk urged, “Philippine promoters, please let us have more concerts here in the Philippines.”

Super Junior’s Super Show 9 wraps up 2022’s K-pop concerts for the year—a full circle as the group was also the first one to hold a solo tour in Manila back in 2010.
