LIST: Confirmed And Rumored Upcoming 2022 Filipino Adaptations Of Hit Korean Dramas (+ First Look And First Episode)

Here are the confirmed and rumored Filipino adaptations of some of the well-loved Korean dramas.

CONFIRMED

1.) The Broken Marriage Vow (Currently Airing)
Although “The Broken Marriage Vow” is actually adapted from BBC’s “Doctor Foster,” its Korean counterpart, “The World Of The Married”, became a hit among Filipinos when it premiered back in 2020.

The series tells the story of a successful doctor, a loving wife, and a caring mother. Her life is seemingly faultless; she’s a woman who is good at her job and at taking care of her family. But her perfect world easily turned upside down when she finds out about her husband’s other woman.

“The Broken Marriage Vow” mainly stars Jodi Sta. Maria as the scorned wife Jill Ilustre, Zanjoe Marudo as the cheating husband David Ilustre, Sue Ramirez as the other woman Lexi Lucero, and Zaijian Jaranilla as the first son Gio Illustre.

 

2.) Flower Of Evil
“Flower Of Evil”—originally starring “Criminal Minds” co-stars Lee Joon Gi and Moon Chae Won—will be adapted into a Filipino teleserye starring Piolo Pascual and Lovi Poe. The series is about a man who is living using another person’s name, and his wife who’s starting to doubt his identity.

 

3.) Start-up
A drama about young entrepreneurs, “Start-up” originally starred Nam Joo Hyuk, Suzy Bae, Kim Seon Ho, and Kang Hanna.

As of March 4, 2022, Alden Richards and Bea Alonzo are confirmed to star in the Philippine adaptation of “Start-up.” There is still no mention of who will portray Kim Seon Ho and Kang Hanna’s characters. 

 

RUMORED / UNCONFIRMED

1.) It’s Okay To Not Be Okay
“It’s Okay To Not Be Okay” is a healing drama which originally starred Kim Soo Hyun and Seo Ye Ji. The series follows the story of a children’s book writer with antisocial personality disorder, and a caregiver at a Psychiatric Hospital.

The rumored couple to star as Moon Gang Tae and Ko Moon Young are Kapamilya loveteam Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil, also known as LizQuen. As of writing, only ABS-CBN’s fan pages have announced the alleged adaptation. There is still no official statement from ABS-CBN. Therefore, this rumor is still unconfirmed.
