IU reportedly confirmed for comeback drama after 3 years, “Money Game”—her last appearance was in the 2019 series “Hotel Del Luna.” She will reportedly star alongside actors Ryu Jun Yeol (from “Reply 1988”) and Park Hae Joon (from “The World Of The Married”), plus Park Jung Min and Bae Sung Woo.
The series will be a drama adaptation of the Webtoon “Money Game” and “Pie Game” by Bae Jin Soo. According to the Webtoon’s official page, “Money Game” is about 8 participants who will join a reality show for 100 days, in an effort to take home 44.8 billion won (38 million USD). However, the catch is, everything they buy and use costs 1000 times more than the original price. While “Pie Game” is about the endless flow of cash, but the players won’t know when the game will end—until someone dies. The series will portray betrayal and human greed.
“Money Game” will be produced by Studio N, which co-produced hit series “Our Beloved Summer,” “Yumi’s Cells,” “Nevertheless,” “Sweet Home,” and “True Beauty.”
