5 Of Nam Joo Hyuk’s Confirmed Korean Drama And Film Projects This 2020

2020 is one busy year for Nam Joo Hyuk. After his contract with YG Entertainment expired, the “Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo” actor signed with Management SOOP. The agency houses Bae Suzy, Gong Yoo, Choi Woo Shik, and Gong Hyo Jin, among others. After signing with Management SOOP, Nam Joo Hyuk was reported to star in five different projects.

Here are his confirmed projects as of this year:


𝟏.) “𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐍𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐬” 𝐚𝐬 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐧 𝐏𝐲𝐨 (𝐊𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐚, 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐝)
The series centers around a school nurse named Ahn Eun Young (portrayed by “Train To Busan” actress Jung Yumi) who can see manifestations of different kinds of thoughts, desires, and emotions in the forms of “jellies.” Not all jellies cause harm, but when they do, Ahn Eun Young sets out to eliminate them. Nam Joo Hyuk portrayed Chinese characters teacher and the grandson of the school’s founder, Hong In Pyo. His “special aura” helps Eun Young recharge during her combats.


𝟐.) “𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭-𝐮𝐩” 𝐚𝐬 𝐍𝐚𝐦 𝐃𝐨 𝐒𝐚𝐧 (𝐊𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐚, 𝐨𝐧-𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠)
The actor portrays the math genius and Samsan Tech’s engineer Nam Do San in the on-going drama “Start-up,” alongside Suzy Bae as Samsan Tech CEO Seo Dal Mi, Kim Seon Ho as mentor and team manager Han Ji Pyeong, and Kang Hanna as Injae Company CEO Won In Jae.

𝟑.) “𝐉𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐞” 𝐚𝐬 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐞𝐨𝐤 (𝐊𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐦, 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫)
Nam Joo Hyuk plays Young Seok and Han Ji Min plays Josee in the film “Josee,” a remake of the Japanese movie “Josee, The Tiger, And The Fish.” The movie is about a woman with a physical disability, and a man who falls in love with her.


𝟒.) “𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫” (𝐊𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐦, 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫)
Nam Joo Hyuk will star with veteran actor Lee Sung Min. The film is about a man in his 80’s who is consumed by revenge after losing everything, and a young man who will help soothe his pain.

“Here” stars “Mr. Sunshine” actor Lee Byung Hun, “Hyde, Jekyll, Me” actress Han Ji Min, “Oh My Venus” actress Shin Min Ah, and “Live” actor Bae Sung Woo. The series is about people who work for an international non-profit organization. Along with “Here,” Nam Joo Hyuk and Han Ji Min already have three projects together including “Light In Your Eyes” and “Josee.”
