It’s Okay Not To Be Okay” recently premiered last weekend. The drama stars Kim Soo Hyun (“from My Love From The Star”) as Moon Gang Tae, a caregiver in a psychiatric ward, and Seo Ye Ji (from “Lawless Lawyer”) as Go Moon Young, a children’s book author with an antisocial personality disorder.
Here are seven reasons why you might want to consider adding this series to your must-watch list:
𝟏.) 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐊𝐢𝐦 𝐒𝐨𝐨 𝐇𝐲𝐮𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐚
After appearing in hit dramas “My Love From The Star,” “Dream High,” “The Moon Embracing The Sun,” and “The Producers,” among others, Kim Soo Hyun earned various acting awards. Hence, his comeback drama, “It’s Okay Not To Be Okay” is highly anticipated as this is his first full-length drama — since he had a cameo appearance in “Hotel del Luna” and “Crash Landing On You” — after his discharge from his mandatory military service.
𝟐.) 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐊𝐢𝐦 𝐒𝐨𝐨 𝐇𝐲𝐮𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐞𝐨 𝐘𝐞 𝐉𝐢
The intense stares and the romantic tension between these two add charm and mystery to their highly-anticipated team-up.
𝟑.) 𝐒𝐞𝐨 𝐘𝐞 𝐉𝐢’𝐬 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐦𝐚
Viewers can’t help but fall in love with Go Moon Young — a female character who’s forward, speaks her mind, and knows her worth. Her wardrobe is full of elegant and grand pieces. Her look, the way she walks, and everything about her is simply stunning.
𝟒.) 𝐎𝐡 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐞’𝐬 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬
Oh Jung Se (from “When The Camellia Blooms”) plays Kim Soo Hyun’s older brother, Moon Sang Tae, who is suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). His character is one of the purest ones in the series, and the way portrayed Sang Tae deserves an award.
𝟓.) 𝐈𝐭 𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡
With only two episodes, “It’s Okay Not To Be Okay” already talked about the misconceptions regarding mental health, how trauma affects a child until their adulthood if not taken care of, and a possible way to calm down when you’re having “attacks.”
𝟔.) 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲-𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐬
The graphics and animation shown throughout the series add color and flair to the drama’s already top-notched cinematography. It also has a Tim Burton inspired kind of feel, combining a beautiful nightmare and fairytale-like concept.
𝟕.) 𝐊𝐢𝐦 𝐒𝐨𝐨 𝐇𝐲𝐮𝐧’𝐬 𝐬𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐞
Because the whole world lights up when Moon Gang Tae smiles.
“It’s Okay Not To Be Okay” is currently my personal favorite, mostly since it’s my kind of genre. How about you, do you love this series as much as I do?
